Podcast of The Day: People I (Mostly) Admire | Jane Goodall Changed The Way We See Animals. She’s Not Done. | Feb 7 2025 | 1 hr 2 min
Why It Mattered To Me:
Jane Goodall is one of my favorite humans. She is 90 years old and just keeps getting younger. Her heart for animals and conservation and climate change inspires me to no end! These Words Made Me Pause:
“For me hope is not wishful thinking. Hope is about action. And the way I’m looking at where we are today is our human species is at the mouth of a very long, very dark tunnel. And right at the end of that tunnel there’s a little star shining. That’s hope. But there’s no one sitting at the start of that tunnel saying, “I hope that star will come here soon." No, we have to roll up our sleeves and work our way around all the obstacles that lie between us and that star. And that’s climate change, loss of biodiveristy, property, unsustainable lifestyles, industrial agriculture, animal agriculture that’s destroying hte environment with pesticides…”
